Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain excellent internal and external client relationships, including all projects team members coupled with effective communication with all.

  • The sales engineer shall keep up to date with all Headworks Marketing initiatives and shall utilize existing Headworks marketing material and as required develop internal marketing material specific to the opportunity as required and as agreed with Sr. VP.
  • The sales engineer shall provide follow up investigation and report on all bids, quotes or tenders to ascertain the award status and the reasons affecting clients’ decisions. The success rate of all bids shall be recorded and evaluated periodically.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging wastewater technologies and their potential application on client engagements.
  • To promote Headworks as a solution provider establishing strong business relationships with the key decision makers in the wastewater industry, including municipalities/authorities. Effectively managing people with regards to the corporate projects (eg. Suppliers, agents etc). Effective evaluation of competition in the market in terms of products, price policy, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Implement the Sales and marketing action plan. Contribute to develop a high level of technical expertise with the distributors, agents in order to provide excellent technical support to the customers.
  • Support the distributors in the sales promotion. Participate at exhibitions, seminars and conduct presentations when needed.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or Wastewater/Environmental Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in wastewater treatment including preparing feasibility studies, carrying out process design, preparing process design reports, process commissioning and trouble shooting of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Experience in design and operational knowledge of all major and advanced wastewater treatment technologies, including activated sludge (extended aeration, MLE, bardenpho) membrane bio reactor (MBRs), moving bed bio film reactor (MBBR), trickling filters, Submerged aerated flooded filters (SAFs), rotating biological contactors (RBC) solids clarification including sandfilters, Dissolved air floatation (DAFs) and lamellas.
  • Basic process knowledge and an understanding of industrial wastewater treatment processes, for various industries such as food and beverage, textile (silk, denim, cotton), meat processing.
  • Basic knowledge of preliminary treatment processes such as screenings removal, grit removal, FOG removal, and basic knowledge of disinfection processes including chlorination and UV.
  • Familiar with and experience of using water industry standards for designing wastewater treatment plants.
  • Ability to identifying causes for poor performance or non compliant effluent produced from wastewater treatment plants, including reviewing performance and operation data of typical wastewater treatment plants.
  • Experience of using process modeling tools such as Bio win, GPS-X for design of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Excellent oral and written English and presentation skills.
  • Excellence in technical report writing and verbal/written communications.
  • Proven ability to liaise, influence and negotiate with clients and authorities.

Position Summary

Headworks is in search of an experienced Biological Process Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of biological, physical, and chemical processes for municipal industrial applications. To be successful in this role, candidates must have a thorough understanding of typical biological processes applied in the wastewater industry and detailed process knowledge surrounding all components within a wastewater treatment system [i.e.: RBC, SBR, UASB, MBR, various types of clarifiers, secondary treatment, tertiary treatment solution, sludge treatment and biosolids handling technologies]. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must as the Process Engineer will be expected to write technical papers, partner with Marketing to develop case studies, and be able to write technical evaluation reports associated with the sales cycle.

 

Essential Functions

  • Designs wastewater treatment solutions using the information supplied by the sales team and documenting the proposed process into a summary.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Manage the accounting department functions and personnel for all domestic and international entities.
  • Create and monitor career growth paths for Finance Department team members.
  • Review and improve financial controls and procedures for multi-divisional accounting practices.
  • Review terms and conditions of international letters of credit from the Company’s customers, negotiate terms and monitor compliance.

 Examples of Initial Deliverables

  • Although not a complete and comprehensive task list, the following is a partial roadmap for the expectations of the initial months in the position, bearing in mind the need to remain flexible as business needs change:
  • First Sixty Days: Work with current Financial Department members to understand existing processes, assist in resolving any open issues, participate in supporting outside accountants with 2015 Financial Report, update ongoing intercompany transactions in corporate books, and produce a written report assessing current accounting staff qualifications, workload, internal processes and workflow. Recommend improvements in each of these areas based on comprehensive plan. Begin execution of plan to implement improvements. Work with management and senior Finance Department members to understand percentage accrual procedures and cash flow projection methodology currently used by the Company and assist in maintain current projections on a monthly basis.
  • Second Sixty Days: Establish written plan for further cross training of all department members and develop individual career plans. Present to senior management, outside accountants and relevant department managers written suggestions for improvement in intercompany record keeping, account coding, A/P coding and A/R collections as relevant. Work with various department managers and staff to update annual department budgets and to improve their understanding of and accuracy in new procedures. Work with outside tax accountants to ensure all filings are accurate and timely for 2015.

 

 Qualifications

  • A degreed accountant, preferably a CPA, with seven or more years of experience in hands on controller positions involving cost accounting; percentage completion accrual accounting; and international accounting, finance and tax issues. Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting highly preferred.
  • Experience with international business including review and monitoring of letters of credit.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, including Quickbooks, Sage or other similar software accounting programs.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare budgets, financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Ability to function effectively in a smaller firm—possess “hands-on” accounting and finance skills while also having the ability to participate as a member of the executive team.

Essential Functions

  • Annually develops cost and quality improvement strategies and Kaizan improvements for all components and material purchases and monitors progress across the department.
  • Conducts a minimum of annual reviews with key suppliers regarding quality and on time performance and costs versus pre-agreed standards.
  • Supports Project Management in the compilation of monthly procurement performance status reports.
  • Works with Sales to update and maintain quotation calculations and procedures to insure accurate cost estimates.
  • Provides sourcing assistance to new product development teams on a global basis.
  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • 10 or more years experience in supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role for international supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.

Examples Of Initial Deliverables

Although not a complete and comprehensive list of goals and milestones, the following is an initial roadmap for the expectations of the first few months in this position. Naturally, this plan may evolve if business needs change:

  • First thirty (30) days deliverable will be a written report encompassing the assessment of current staff qualifications, workload, internal processes, quality control, and workflow, plus recommendations for improvement in each of these areas and suggested best practice implementation of the recommendations including establishment of metrics to measure current SCM operations as a bench mark against monthly changes.
  • Three (3) month deliverable will be, working with a team from each of the company departments, to assess various technologies which would improve processes across the company’s operations, prepare a short list of recommendations and a thorough plus/minus assessment of each, together with a suggested implementation road map. Additionally, continued improvements as measured by established metrics in the areas of multiple sourcing, JIT, alliance building with key suppliers, etc
  • Six (6) month deliverable will include a Plan developed in collaboration with members of other departments, including Technical Services, Customer Service, Project Management and Marketing, detailing suggested incremental improvements to core products, implementation resources required and timeline to successful adaptation. Additionally, written reports on the success of the implementation of new processes and measured reductions in error rate as well as a report on current quality assurance program and suggestions for improvements for part and equipment testing. Continued improvements will be expected as measured each following quarter.
  • Twelve (12) month deliverable will be written report assessing success of plan, implementation of previously suggested improvements/changes/technologies, and recommendations for the departments next twelve to twenty-four months.

  • Proficient experience in SolidWorks, Drive Works and AutoCAD with the ability to interface spreadsheet (Excel) design and configuration specifications into AutoCAD documentation.
  • Understanding and experience with dynamic design and integration of static structures with moving assemblies.
  • Experience integrating power transmission equipment into dynamic machinery.
  • Understands both metric and imperial measurement systems and documentation and design standards.
  • Ability to apply finite element analysis to simple beam stress analysis problems.
  • Experience with design of structural steel weldments and incorporation into assemblies.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures for ferrous and alloy steels.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and shop floor manufacturing personnel to oversee manufacturing process.

Job Title:  Field Service Technician

Position Summary

Headworks is seeking an entry level Field Service Technician to install, repair, maintain, and adjust our equipment in the field.

Essential Functions

  • Assemble, calibrate, test and troubleshoot mechanical components and circuits, harnesses, and instruments.
  • Working independently, and while interacting with customers, install, start-up, performance test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer locations.
  • Inspect and test equipment prior to shipping to customer.
  • Train customers on theory of operation and on operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Create and maintain service records and reports using the appropriate software such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Make product improvement recommendations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 0-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and industry codes and standards.
  • Ability to organize tasks and schedule work so that it is completed on time.
  • Ability to effectively perform work independently or within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required: skilled at written and oral communication, able to work constructively with customers and code enforcement officials, able to effectively explain function of equipment to customers.
  • Bilingual helpful but not required.
  • Valid U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
  • Ability to operate various tools and instruments including hydraulic tools, drills, grinders gages and meters for electrical components.
  • Previous experience with Wastewater Treatment Equipment a plus.
  • Welding experience, especially on Stainless steel a plus.

 

Job Requirements

  • This position does require the ability to travel extensively, up to 95%. Overnight travel is a requirement. It also requires the ability to work holidays and weekends. International travel with passport required.
  • Practical experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment required.
  • Possesses and exhibit high moral and ethical standards.

Position Summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering or Business degree coupled with a minimum of seven years sales management experience directing activities for multiple applications in the water market
  • Experience working with manufacturers’ representatives and international stakeholders
  • Self-disciplined and possess excellent communication skills (multiple language skills a plus!)
  • Team player committed to working with a team of highly motivated sales personnel

Job Title: Mechanical Wastewater Design Engineer (Mechanical & Industrial)

Position Summary

Headworks is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with an extensive process background in the industrial (and municipal) wastewater treatment industry. Ten years’ experience water treatment equipment is a must. In this position you will be part of the entire product development and process design team collaborating with sales, manufacturing, procurement, and marketing to deliver an innovative, quality and profitable product. Since the equipment is sometimes sold as a system, experience in P&ID development, piping design, instrumentation and valve selection, is also required. Detailed process knowledge of typical operations in the wastewater industry such as clarifiers, DAFs, tertiary treatments, sludge and biosolids handling are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must as the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for review of customer technical specifications, to ensure the delivery of a quality product, on time, and within budget.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • Designs wastewater treatment equipment using the information supplied by the sales team and customer specifications.
  • Experience in design of DAFs for various industrial applications.
  • Develops fabrication and BOM drawings for project equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Proposes design changes to improve quality, function, and manufacturability of equipment.
  • Interaction with customers, solving treatment challenges through thorough analysis of their particular requirements.
  • Spearhead certain R&D projects to support internal technology development.
  • Interaction with team members to continually improve existing technologies and create innovative new techniques for improving water treatment and reuse.
  • Prepares Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), General Arrangements (GA), and preliminary Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for incorporating in proposals and bids.
  • Assists with processes, tools, and systems for project estimating that are accurate and efficient.
  • Provides mechanical engineering input for new and existing projects.
  • Keeps abreast of wastewater treatment design techniques, and competing technologies.
  • Fosters and maintains excellent working relationships with customers and staff.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately externally with the client and internally with project resources and stakeholders, as required.
  • Ensures that company procedures and design methodology is consistently applied including all required project documents filed as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint.
  • Composed and disciplined approach to multiple simultaneous demands.
  • Knowledge of advanced biological treatment processes like MBR, MBBR, high rate clarification processes.
  • Knowledge of advanced wastewater treatment and water treatment systems for biological process based industries like pulp & paper, beverage, meat, food processing, etc. is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of SolidWorks or similar design tools is a must.
